Found a USB DJ controller at a thrift store a couple years, which cost somewhere between $1 and $5.
Do I recommend anyone go searching this out? Of course not!
But, I might as well learn how it works for the DIY Unfinished Resurrection Project. I'll also be trying it as part of my computer for offline use.
X-Session Pro is M-Audio's "DJ-inspired," class-compliant USB MIDI controller from 15+ years ago. Discontinued, but also a generic USB controller.
- The bus-powered mixer will look very familiar to DJs.
- Would not turn on reliably without a powered USB hub.
- It includes a MIDI crossfader, assignable faders, and an EQ
So far, so good. Still in the process of understanding how the DJ software works, because it is comprehensive at a glance. Definitely offers a lot of options for me to experiment with.
