Development has begun on transferring past Linux Prepper episodes into print format! That is right: fully offline and available in two written iterations:
- Zine as digital PDF, which will include clickable links as a barebones edition
- Transcriptions of interviews by hand, not by Whisper! Yes, I will personally write it out!
- Additional Interviews and projects not included in recordings!
- Hand printed and bound! To be made available at conferences and similar in extremely limited quantities.
- Additional notes! Pictures! Sketches! Literally see details and projects left out of episodes!
- Art Heavy! Because when you want to actually use the book for clicking links you'll use the PDF or website.
Why?
Seriously, people don't listen to old stuff. Well, maybe the hardcore listeners do. However, lots of solid information from the first year of the show, ala Season 0! And, I will make the books look totally awesome! I pride myself on offering extremely detailed show notes, so this will add my love of papercrafting into the DIY mix!
When will this be made available?
I'm shooting for around LFNW, where I hopefully plan to table and present in 2026. For details you can watch this thread to stay up-to-date. My original intention in making a diorama for SeaGL conference last week was to offer the zines, but they weren't ready yet, plus my focus was on offering shirts and buttons.
